Toronto FanExpo (Aug 28-30)

HORROR! COMICS! SCI-FI! ANIME! GAMING!
-- It's FanExpo time again!

At the end of the month, THE ZED WORD will be covering all three days of the Toronto FanExpo (Aug 28-30th). Presented by Hobbystar marketing, the FanExpo is a summer mecca of geekdom for Canadians and our friends across the border. Under the roof of the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, high profile guests and exhibitors mingle as comics, sci-fi, anime, gaming and horror conventions all take place simultaneously on the convention floor

Of particular interest to horror fans is the Rue Morgue FESTIVAL OF FEAR (the horror con), which always proves to be a blast of horrific happenings. It was thanks to the Festival of Fear in 2007 that I got to fulfill a lifetime dream: meeting George A. Romero. This year, the Festival of Fear has landed another accomplished lineup of horror alum.

2009's GUEST OF HONOUR is Bruce Campbell (The Evil Dead, Evil Dead II, Army of Darkness, Bubba Ho-Tep). Also in appearance will be the infamous director and producer Roger Corman, Max Brooks (The Zombie Survival Guide), Udo Kier, Barbara Steele, Tom Savini, James Duval and more.

If horror's not your cup of tea, there's also a Sci-Fi convention (with an appearance by Leonard Nimoy), a Comics convention ( with an appearance by J. Michael Straczynski), and an Anime and Gaming convention. There's never a dull moment and always something for everyone!

It's a jam-packed week of pop-culture goodness that earns the title of Canada's largest fan event! THE ZED WORD will be there bringing you all the happenings from the convention floor.

So, if you see a guy wandering around with a ZED WORD zombie blog t-shirt, come on over and say, "Hello!"
