Toronto After Dark 2011: Zombies, Monsters, Anime and More!

October is just around the corner. That means Halloween, the Hamilton and Toronto Zombie Walk, and the TORONTO AFTER DARK FILM FESTIVAL (Oct 20-27).

I've been attending and covering Toronto After Dark for several years now. It's become the only film festival I refuse to miss. If you love horror, sci-fi, action, and everything cult, then there's no better place to be than Toronto after dark.

This year, Toronto After Dark has already announced an impressive lineup of eight films, and there's plenty of zombie action!

DEADHEADS

Two inexplicably coherent zombies awake amidst a zombie attack and decide to take a road trip to find the one's lost love, unaware they are being chased by the agents of a ruthless company with its own agenda.
EXIT HUMANITY

A young man's struggle to survive in the aftermath of a deadly undead outbreak during the American Civil War.
MONSTER BRAWL

Eight classic monsters fight to the death in an explosive wrestling tournament set inside an abandoned and cursed graveyard.
FATHER'S DAY

From Troma and Astron-6 (Inferno of the Dead) comes a story of a killer who rapes and murders fathers and the one-eyed man out for revenge.
REDLINE

Brilliant Japanese animation in this story of the Redline, a futuristic, no-rules race.
THE DIVIDE

To survive the end of the world you must first survive each other. An apocalyptic movie directed by Xavier Gens (Frontiers)
THE THEATRE BIZARRE

A twisted anthology film of horror hosted by an eerie human puppet named Peg Poett (Udo Kier)
LOVE

In the year 2039, United States Astronaut Lee Miller is a one-man skeleton crew on an abandoned space station where he is stranded and struggles to maintain his sanity and to stay alive.
