The Walking Dead Could Save You a Speeding Ticket

Here's a true story that happened last week to my girlfriend that proves it pays to be a zombie fan.

My girlfriend was driving home last week and, admittedly, she was speeding. I'm sure she had good reason to be violating the speed limit, but her speeding didn't go unnoticed by the local police.

Even when my girlfriend isn't speeding, her car is pretty easy to recognize -- and from it you can tell that we're both big zombie fans. It might have something to do with this bumper sticker from zombieseverywhere.org

Anyways, before she knew it, my girlfriend had a local police car on her tail signalling her to pull over. She pulled over and a young officer of the law approached the driver's side window. He told my girlfriend she was speeding, and she agreed. Then he said, "I'm going to ask you a question. If you get it right, I won't give you a ticket."

"Okay, what is it?" my girlfriend asked.

"Rick or Shane?"

RICK OR SHANE? What'll it be, hot shot?
Rick or Shane? The difference between getting a speeding ticket or not comes down to knowing The Walking Dead.

"Uhhh, Rick," my girlfriend said. "Because Shane is a psycho."

"Good answer," the police officer said, and then he let my girlfriend off with only a warning. No ticket. Good thing too. I don't know what's worse: getting a ticket or getting ticketed by a police officer who actually admires Shane.

Watch the new episode of The Walking Dead tonight on AMC because you never know: it could save you from a speeding ticket in the future.
